This piece was inspired by the Katzenjammer Kabarett song 'Once Eliot Turned Ugly In His Lover's Bed'.

For one of my uni projects I am doing comic strips inspired by songs I have listened to during the day. I will roughly have around 10-20 (hopefully). I will upload them on here to show the process. In the end I want to collect them all into a book.

Daily Inspiration #1: Suicidal Dream by Silverchair

Hey all and welcome to my new thing Daily Inspiration where I do a drawing based on something that inspires me.

Silverchair are one of my favourtie bands. I love everything by them from their early Grunge start to, well whatever the hell genre you place them in now. For those who have never listened to them I say start with the albums NEON BALLROOM and DIORAMA. Then take a listen to YOUNG MODERN and then if it is your taste listen to their more grunge albums FROGSTOMP and FREAK SHOW.

This is one of my favourite songs by them titled 'Suicidal Dream'.
I know, quite a dark, "emo" sounding title but for some reason it wasn't the lyrics of the song that always brought me to listen to it. It was the melody and the odd fact that this song always made me feel calm and relaxed (yep, I am messed up but hey I gotta live with it). Hell it was the first song of theirs I was enthusiastic to practice on the guitar.

This is my favourite game of all time. Been over looked by so many! Such a brilliant story and amazing gameplay. Graphics are amazing and this has an amazing soundtrack. All around a great game.

This is the intro scene. I remember loading the game up and was confused by this beginning as I had started it before with when it starts off with the talk about going to Lea Monde. Though playing this I understood more and was blown away when the Wyvern crashed in. So here is my version of that scene.

Captain Love Hammer

During a lesson me and my friend Tai were talking about 90s comic characters.
As a jokes I drew a quick sketech of what they were kind of like and he added more details to it (the first sketch of Love Hammer) and hence Captain Love Hammer was born!

As the lesson went on we came up with more jokes and characters for this world Love Hammer inhabits. There is:
- Captain Love Hammer: Our hero
- Raul: His pet chiuaua which lives in a bubble with lazers attached to it!
- Helga: His manly love interest

Tai came up with the villian which I thought was perfect but we still to this day can't think of a fitting name for him.

Anyhoo I've become very interested in this character and want to at least us him in a webcomic or something. We are trying to decide at the moment.

Evolution of FORTITUDE part 2

Now with a sense of his design I wasn't sure to give him a mask or not. I only wanted his powers to be Super Strength, near invulnerable and flight. This way he will still be able to be in dangerous situations and not be overpowered.

After much debate over the mask or not I decided to go with a helmet after thinking about Sayianman from Dragonball. Once I placed it on the costume it all came together.

On the colours I always liked Blue and Black. I think it's all thanks to Dick Grayson's last Nightwing costume.

Yep. 'Fortitude' Started off being named Rick Rocha. A western superhero. I decided to change the idea as I felt that maybe I should go for a more lighter looking superhero.

I thus went on to thinking of things to do with electricity. I wanted him to have electric powers. Then was gonna have it be a female but the name wouldn't work. She even became a he again. Though I felt the costume looked silly.

Then I looked through the thesaurus to see other words for 'strength' and came across 'Fortitude'. I thus started to think about the costume. I was thinking more along the lines of Captain Marvel more than Superman.

So yeah I'm excited about the direction Batman comics are heading. Loving the whole Batman Inc idea. Loving that Grayson is still gonna be Batman. At first I was up set about Tim being Red Robin now I love it. So I thought if Dick has his Robin in Damien then Bruce would still have Tim as his.

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD IS FRIKKING AMAZING AND IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

Its such a cool, visual movie. My second fave movie of the year (Inception number one, Toy Story 3 number three). All the fights are unique and entertaining. Todd Ingram though..man he is awesome. Super Vegan! Brandon Routh was awesome as him (man people shouldn't hate on him coz the SCRIPT for Superman sucked not him).

I decided to lose the over the top anime-esqe influence. So no scythe (fun to draw but and impractical weapon and doesn't lend itself the the period well) and gone the white hair.

I just want to make him a skilled normal person. This way it makes more tension when he's in fights. He could get badly injured or even killed.

Hey all!
Sorry I haven't been updating the site much. Been really busy with uni and that.
So thought I'd splash some development designs for 'Retail Retale' that I've managed to do now i finally have some time to chillax and why not throw in an image of the ever awesome BATMAN!

I've also decided to do another story that I had put to one side years ago. Me and a mate were talking about ideas we had for comics and I was explaining 'Retail' and this one and he was like "man do both comics". The title before was "RHAPSODY IN BLUE" but I might change it. I dunno. Early stages and all.

Anyhoo enjoy and I shall try and update more frequent.

Retail RETALE

I've been coming up with ideas for a comic over the last few days. It was an idea i had a few years ago but never gave it a second thought. As I lay here bored one day I realised there maybe some potential in it. So i've been sitting around writing out character backstories and fleshing out the world the characters inhabit.

The story is "Retail RETALE". It's about a group of retail workers who find out that some of their colleagues happen to be robots.

Here are the character designs for a few of the main characters.

JERMAINE DOUGLAS - 21
Jermaine is the stories protaganist. He hates his job and always ends up being blunt and honest with customers about products. Even though he appears cold and distant he is actually a really caring person. Some would say he might care too much.

ZOE CHAUDRY - 19
Zoe is a shy person when first approached but once you get to know her she is a sweet, kind person. Can be child like at times but can also be very mature. Don't let her cute attitude fool you either as she's able to take care of herself. A damsel in distress she ain't.

AMBER JONES - 18
Amber's a fun out going girl. She does her job well but doesn't feel anything towards it. Due to her doing her job well the others think she doesn't think she's any fun to probably hang with outside of work or even has an interesting side to her. How little do they know.

A lot of Spider-man fans have been angry with the whole "Brand New Day" crap and I think a family Spider-man with a child, married and with Aunt May still dead would have been such an amazing character development. Those events would shape him into a better character and would add more tension or even comedy to each adventure.
